From the idea that men hold the doors to the idea that sex happens around date three, there are set guidelines.
It is no easy matter, however, in spite of this understanding, to tell of some people whether or no they intend coming ; and in the neighbouring Bavarian Highlands, professional " best men " are employed on this errand, and they very rarely fail to arrive at a correct conclusion.
From my experience at an American university, I understand that dating in the U. is a lot more spontaneous and relies a lot less on checking every detail about the other person.
Love is found, and dismissed, very casually and almost according to the preferences of the particular day.
Being introduced to someone’s friends is therefore seen as normal, not as “he likes me because I get to meet them.”Now, I haven’t dated any Swiss men myself, but from what I hear it tends to be similar to the rest of Europe – you hang out for a few weeks and if you start having sex you become a couple.
It doesn’t mean you are madly in love or intend to marry, it means you are testing the waters.
